The PDVSA HVM Racing team participated in the Nikon Indy 300 at Surfers Paradise, Queenslad, Australia to conclude their 2008 season.  The team’s sixth-place finish proved their successful transition to the IndyCar Series.

The PDVSA HVM Racing team was running a strong race with EJ running as high as 5th place before a punctured tire resulted in a brush with the wall that put EJ out of the race on the 136th lap.

The PDVSA HVM Racing team had their day cut short during Sunday’s Detroit Indy Grand Prix after driver E.J. Viso had an accident on lap 32 of the 90-lap event.

         
Infenion Raceway

HVM Racing and EJ Viso ran a solid raceat infenion, where good startegy, and good driving yielded a very respectable 6th place finish. The best of any transition team.

         
Meijer Indy 300

HVM Racing was able to use a combination of pit strategy and overtaking by driver E.J. Viso to advance eight positions by the end of the Indy Meijer 300 Saturday night at the Kentucky Speedway and finish in the 13th position.

HVM Racing picked up their second consecutive top-10 finish during Sunday’s Camping World Grand Prix at The Glen. The finish, however, did not reflect the teams performance during Sunday’s event.

Running as high as 2nd a green flag pit-stop late in the race, right before a caution period left EJ a lap down and finishing 10th (2 laps down.)
         
Iowa Speedway

Finishing 13th was a good result considering the car did not have as much speed this weekend as in recent races. EJ's second set of tyres slowed him down considerably and after that he was really fighting to finish as high as possible more than anything else.
         
Texas Motor Speedway

EJ ran as high as 7th, before a pit lane speed infraction resulted in a drive through penalty.

This was the highest starting position for E.J. thus far and the highest finishing position on an oval. He drove an impressive race, running as high as 6th before the tires started to go away and he fell back a few spots in the last stint.
         
Indianapolis 500

E.J. started the race in 26th after little track time during the month of May due to inclement weather. He ran a great race and was as high as 11th before a single bolt in the gearbox failed. This caused his Dallara to stick in 3rd gear and when it could not be repaired, E.J. retired on lap 139.

Ran as high as 7th before EJ to drifted up into Thomas Scheckter, fortunately suffering no damage. Later in the race, a violation for stopping in another competitor’s pits put him several laps down, ending his race in 14th.

Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach

After qualifying mid-pack, EJ worked his way up to 9th, despite contact with another car and several caution flags that ruined his race strategy.

Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg

Rain started to fall on the pre-grid, and EJ steadily made his way through the field, leading 12 laps throughout the race. He earned his best finish to date with a 4th place

Homestead Miami Speedway

This was EJ’s first oval in his career and the first for both he and the team. He ran a solid race, staying out of trouble until a tire failure caused him to spin exiting the pits with only 17 laps remaining.
