HVM Racing Collects Data After Friday Practice Session

Comments from team owner Keith Wiggins after Friday’s practice sessions at Watkins Glen International:

“It’s like all these things, coming to new tracks, we just have to work through the motions.  We tried a couple of different setups today and we are extracting the data.  We’ll look through it and get ready for Saturday’s qualifying runs.

“We wanted to be further up in the standings today, but tomorrow is the day that counts for speed. We’re focused on gaining the best results.  Today is for E.J. and the team to learn the track.  The proof of how well we did will be tomorrow when we see where we end up after qualifying.”

Comments from team driver E.J. Viso after Friday’s practice sessions at Watkins Glen International:

“I think we need to work really hard for tomorrow.  We are not where we want to be in regards to the setup.  I don’t know if we’ve found our baseline to start with yet.  But, we have time tomorrow morning to work it out.

The track isn’t difficult.  It’s a very fluid track, mostly at very high speed.  You need to ask a lot of the car to be quick.  You need perfect balance and downforce.  We’re working on getting the best setup that will work for qualifying.”
